Brunswick, Frederick County, Maryland, is approximately 50 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. With the Potomac River and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal as its southern boundary, the town has had at least seven names since the area was home to the Susquehanna Indians of the Iroquois tribe.
